Book today for one of our stone carving workshops . Suitable for all levels of skill.
Workshops are overseen by Stephen L’Normand our Master stonemason and carver past master at Windsor castle, Doges Palace, Venice and The Vatican.
"Fabulous day course carving limestone. Stephen was kind, helpful and capable, and we learnt lots that we can take away and apply ourselves at home for practice. Excellent value for money as well. Thank you for all your help, patience and support. We will absolutely be back for more!" Kat
The Stonemasons Guild of St Stephen provides a selection of services in support of our registered objectives; education around stonemasonry skills and craftsmanship, record-keeping (maintenance of an archive and collection) and sharing and the actively supporting of the intangible heritage of the craft; its history, culture, skills, traditions and in my opinion the most important, community.
We fund much of this work through the money raised from carving workshops, talks and demonstrations we offer to the public.
The education for young people and support of all the objectives above directly relating to training of craftspeople and our communities are offered free. By being able to offer these educational programs free of charge, the Guild enables even those who may not have the means to access this educational experience and to to learn and appreciate this unique craft and culture whether it be schools or those who wish to pursue formal training.
