Practical and Academic Programmes for Schools.

The Stonemasons Guild of St. Stephen Ltd and Echinus Ltd have been running a successful education programme in conjunction with organisations such as Woodchester Mansion Trust for some time. The programme is funded by members of the Guild in the form of free time, the supply of necessary materials and the cost of insurance.

However, we want to do more. We aim to be able to offer our services free at source to schools and  other organisations that our programme at present do not reach due to travel costs, inability to travel etc.

Our goal is to start offering our gender and racially inclusive education, message, long history, culture and holistic teaching to schools and organisations previously unable to access it through financial or other reasons

Background to our educational approach.

The Guild system of education is not a new revolutionary program but an education developed over many years based on interest, trust and personal relationships, formed to initially help children and young adults between the ages of 6 and 18 develop important skills and progress through the early concrete operational stage and the later formal logical stages of cognitive development.

The Guild teaching has a number of different levels, each with its own set of tasks and challenges. Each level is designed to help the students develop a range of skills, from problem solving and critical thinking to communication and collaboration.

The first level was the Apprentice level, which was designed to help students develop basic skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. The second level was the Journeyman level, which focused on more advanced skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. The third level was the Master's level, which focused on the development of more complex skills and philosophies.

The Guild also can provide a number of extracurricular activities for the students to participate in. These activities included sports, music, art, and drama.

These activities are designed to help the students develop their social skills and build relationships with their peers.
